Germany knocked out in Eurobasket

Lithuania beat Germany, 84-75 to end Dirk Nowitzki's hope of playing in the 2012 Olympics. Nowitzki scored 16 points in the game, shooting just 4-17.

Chris Kaman had 25 points and 11 rebounds, but the Germans needed more from Nowitzki. Lithuania was led by Rimantas Kaukenas who scored 19 points. Jonas Valunciuanis scored 15 points for the victor.

Serbia beat Turkey, 68-67 to also advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament, joining Lithuania. Spain beat France, 96-69 in a game that saw many of the big stars sitting out as each team already made the quarterfinals. Tony Parker, and Joakhim Noah sat out the game for France.


The two finalists for this tournament will play in the 2012 Olympics, while the next four face off in another qualifying tournament.
