Finally, one week away from preseason football starting in the NFL. Sure the games don't matter, but they are still fun to watch, especially for you non-baseball guys like me. I watch mlb playoffs, but 162 games in the season are too much. Here's a run-down of Thursday, August 11th's preseason schedule.
Jacksonville at New England: Will be interesting to see how Blaine Gabbert plays for Jacksonville. How many snaps does Tom Brady and David Garrard get? Will Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth play?
Baltimore at Philadelphia: The Eagles have been compared to the Miami Heat of the NBA as players are flocking in the city of "brotherly love." Now Andy Reid has an uphill battle in getting all the new guys affilated with the team. Baltimore released a trio of stars from their offense, now quarterback Joe Flacco gets a look at the replacements.
Seattle at San Diego: ESPN's game for the night. Both teams have questions that need to be answered. Seattle and Tavaris Jackson get a chance to see what this season could be, and San Diego will look at their new offense without Darren Sproles. Billy Volek and rookie Scott Tolzien figure to get the majority of the snaps at the quarterback position.
Denver at Dallas: The quarterback situation at Denver is tough to watch. Tim Tebow deserves a shot at the position, but instead the team figures to be going with Kyle Orton. Dallas released Roy Williams and Marion Barber last week, and now they get to see who will step up.
Arizona at Oakland: Kevin Kolb is the new face of the Arizona Cardnials. He will get a shot against one of the worst teams in the league in Oakland. The Raiders released their best player in Nnamdi Asomugha. Now this team seems prime for a winless regular season.
