Donatas Motiejunas Player Profile

The Milwaukee Bucks hold the tenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Milwaukee is one year removed from making the playoffs. The Bucks struggled with injuries this last year, thus the team finished with a 35-47 record. Now the Bucks have a chance to change things with one pick. I am projecting Milwaukee drafts seven-foot Donatas Motiejunas from Lithuania with the tenth pick.
Motiejunas needs to bulk up more before he can be effective in the NBA, but the size is there. He only weighs 224 pounds on the seven-foot frame. Motiejunas began his career playing for Zalgaris Kaunas. He helped led the team to titles in the Baltic Championship, Lithuanian Cup, and Lithuanian Championship. In 2009, Motiejunas played for Aiscia- Atletas where he earned more of the scoring load. Motiejunas averaged 20 points and seven rebounds per game with Aiscia-Atletas. For the last two years, Motiejunas played professionally in Italy for Benetton Treviso. The forward was named the Eurocup Rising Star in 2011 after averaging 11 points and six rebounds for Benetton Treviso.
Andrea Bargnani of Toronto is the closest comparsion we have in the NBA to Motiejunas. Bargnani was drafted with the first pick by the Raptors back in 2006. He has put on some weight and is now the cornerstone of the Raptors franchise. Motiejunas has the same type of talent. He could very easily go before the tenth pick in the draft to Toronto with the fifth pick. Wouldn't that be scary having two twin towers on your starting lineup? Motiejunas can shoot from anywhere on the court, and distribute the ball with the prowness of a guard.
I am however projecting Motiejunas to be taken by Milwaukee. The Bucks need power forward help with Luc Richard Mbah Moute being the incumbent starter. Teaming Motiejunas with a healthy Andrew Bogut and Brandon Jennings would make the Bucks an instant playoff contender.
