Now as March has rolled around, its time for the small conference tournaments to begin. A handful of conference tournaments begin this week, including the Big South and Horizion which began today. Finals of these tournaments begin Saturday. On the line is an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.
Here's a breakdown of the tournaments.
America East: Begins March third. Top Seed: Vermont
Atlantic Sun: Starts March second. Top Seed: Belmont.
Big Sky: Begins March fifth. Top Seed: Three teams in a race to close to call. Northern Colorado, Montana, and Weber State are up for the top spot.
Big South: Started today. Top Seed: Coastal Carolina.
Colonial Athletic: Starts March fourth. Top Seed: George Mason.
Horizion: Started today. Top Seed: Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Metro Atlantic: Starts March fourth. Top Seed: Fairfield.
Missouri Valley: Begins March third. Top Seed: Missouri State.
Northeast: Starts March third. Top Seed: Long Island.
Ohio Valley: Starts March second. Top Seed: Murray State.
Patriot: Begins March second. Top Seed: Bucknell.
Southern: Starts March fourth. Top Seeds: Two separate divisions, College of Charleston and Western Carolina.
Summitt: Starts March fifth. Top Seed: Oakland.
Sun Belt: Begins March fifth. Top Seed: Florida Atlantic.
West Coast: Starts March fourth. Top Seed: Saint Marys.
