Colts hire new coach
January 26th 2012 04:00
The Indianapolis Colts have hired Baltimore defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano to be their new head coach. This will be Pagano's first head coaching job.
Pagano previously worked for Cleveland, and Oakland in the NFL, and Miami and North Carolina in college football. This was Pagano's first year working for Baltimore. The Ravens had the third-ranked defense in the NFL at the end of the season. Indianapolis just fired head coach Jim Caldwell after three seasons at the helm.
The Colts are coming off a 2-14 season, that saw them lose their franchise player for the duration. Peyton Manning is just one of the question marks looming over the team. He has openly questioned the direction the team is taking and this may signal the end of Manning as the starting quarterback upon getting healthy. The team holds the top pick in the upcoming NFL draft. They plan to draft quarterback Andrew Luck out of Stanford.
