Bynum suspended for five games.. next year

Los Angeles Laker center Andrew Bynum was suspended for the first five games of next season and fined $25,000 dollars for his hard foul on Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea. The foul happened in the waning moments of the Lakers 36 point loss on Sunday to the Mavericks. Bynum was fined for taking his jersey off as he exited the court.
Barea is very quick to the hole and he had been making the Lakers look silly all series long. Ron Artest committed a hard foul on Barea in game two and was suspended for game three of the series. A few moments before Bynum's foul, Lamar Odom was ejected for throwing his weight into Dirk Nowitski, nearly knocking the German over. Frustration was picking up on the Lakers side of things, sending them to a level not reached in recent memory.
Bynum has since apologized for his behavior, and has reached out to Barea. The center hasn't been able to get ahold of Barea yet. Now he will get all off-season plus whatever is missed from a impending lockout to mull over this hard foul.
One final thought on the Lakers loss, it was sad seeing Phil Jackson leave the court after the embarassing way his team played. Would of been nice seeing the "Zen Master" go out on a game in which his team actually tried like game three of the series. I would be surprised if Jackson doesn't came back for one more year after this playoff performance. Maybe he will take a break and then come back for a different team or give it another chance with the aging Lakers.
