The Denver Broncos are suddenly 6-5 after their fourth straight win on the season. They knocked off the San Diego Chargers, 16-13 in a marathon game which was less then a minute away from resulting in a tie.
Denver placekicker Matt Prater kicked a 37-yard field goal with 29 seconds left in the overtime to get the win for the Broncos. Tim Tebow is now 5-1 as a starter, and San Diego has lost six straight games.
Philip Rivers only had 188 yards on the game, well below his season average. Tebow passed for 143 yards and had 67 yards on the ground. Bronco running back Willis McGahee rushed for 117 yards while Chargers back Ryan Matthews had 137 yards.
The Chargers looked to take the ball out of Rivers hands, only it didn't work even still in trying to garner a win. Denver remains one game behind the Oakland Raiders who beat Chicago, 25-20.
In the game of the day, Buffalo failed in an attempt to beat New York Jets, losing 28-24. Mark Sanchez had four touchdowns threw the air in the win, including a late touchdown to Santonio Holmes with over a minute left. Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Broncos had their chances down the stretch it just wasn't meant to be in the end. The Bills had four chances in the end at the end-zone but couldn't score the touchdown. Fitzpatrick had three touchdowns on the game, and passed for 264 yards in the loss.
Matt Leinart was lost for the season, during the Houston Texans 20-13 win over Jacksonville. Leinart believes he broke the collarbone on his throwing arm. Though x-rays were inconclusive. TJ Yates played in reserve for the Texans. He had 70 passing yards on the game. Leinart before getting hurt was on fire, completing 10-13 passes for 57 yards and one touchdown. Jacksonville also played their backup Luke McCown only because of starter Blaine Gabbert's ineffectiveness. McCown passed for 62 yards, completing 7-11 tosses. Houston is 8-3 on the season, even with all their injuries. Jacksonville dropped to 3-8.
