Blazers win at San Antonio

The Portand Trailblazers continued their dominance over San Antonio on Monday night, now if they can just beat other teams. Portland beat San Antonio, 90-82 in a big road game for the team. The Spurs were missing their "big three", Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginoboli, though the supporting cast put up quite a fight. The Spurs have lost four straight games now, and their lead over Los Angeles in the Western Conference standings has dropped to 3.5 games. The lead over Chicago also stands at 3.5 games for best record in the league.
The Blazers jumped out ahead, 28-22 after the first quarter. The Blazers lead increased to nine points in the second quarter, before its resting point at seven at half. The third quarter was where this game got interesting. Portland struggled to score anything in the quarter, while San Antonio didn't fare much better, but they still grabbed the lead, 68-67 after Daniel Green's jumper. By the time we went into the fourth quarter, San Antonio had a five point lead at 72-67. Only nine third quarter points for Portland.
The fourth was more of the same, as San Antonio increased their lead to eight points. Then Portland, mainly Andre Miller, woke up. The Blazers went on a 15-1 run, to open up a six-point lead at 87-81. San Antonio attempted a rally, but it fell short as the Blazers beat the leagues best twice in four days. Portland beat San Antonio on Friday night at the Rose Garden behind Nicolas Batum's four points in the final second.
Miller lead the Blazers with 26 points, Wesley Matthews contributed with 19 points. LaMarcus Aldridge was held to nine points in the game. Portland shot 52%, while San Antonio connected on 48% of their attempts. George Hill lead the Spurs with 27 points. Portland plays at New Orleans on Wednesday night. San Antonio hosts Boston on Thursday in a matchup of two slumping teams.
