Big College Games this week

December 2nd 2010 01:21
Northern Illinois at Miami of Ohio: The rights to play in the Little Caesars Bowl on December 26th is on the line here. Northern Illinois (10-2) just snuck into the top 25 and figure to stay at least one more week after knocking of Miami (8-4). The Redhawks will keep the game close for three quarters before Northern Illinois wears them down on the ground.

Oregon at Oregon State: The game for all the marbles in the state of Oregon. The Civil War. Oregon (11-0) needs a win to advance to the National Title game while Oregon State (5-6) needs one more win to become bowl eligible. If Oregon State can get a great first half out of quarterback Ryan Katz and Jaquizz Rodgers and get a bit of an lead going into the halftime break then watch out! If the game goes into the break close it will become a long day for the Beavers.

Auburn vs South Carolina: Thank you NCAA for making Cam Newton eligible. Now you will likely see a case made from USC showing what a true mockery you really are. Auburn (12-0) was given a gift from Alabama last week in rallying from 24 points down to get the win. Now South Carolina (9-3) gets their second chance against the Tigers. Auburn defeated the Gamecocks 35-27 in week four of the season. South Carolina was able to knock off Alabama after having a bye week following this loss to Auburn. The Gamecocks will fall but right in the end. The game will be one to watch.

Florida State vs Virginia Tech: The ACC title game winner is expected to garner a berth in the Orange Bowl. Florida State(9-3) has been up and down this season. They finished the season on a huge up by defeating Florida. Virginia Tech(10-2) after losing the first two games on the schedule to Boise State and James Madison has run of ten straight victories. The Hokies can beat you with the run or the pass with quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Virginia Tech wins.

Nebraska vs Oklahoma: The winner of this game will take a hike to the Fiesta Bowl. Both teams are 10-2 and riding a wave of good luck. Oklahoma outlasted Oklahoma State in a wild game 47-41 last week. Nebraska is known for a hard nosed defense which will keep this game low scoring. If quarterback Taylor Martinez has his head in the game, Nebraska will win. If the struggles continue for Martinez, Oklahoma has an easy road to Tempe and the BCS.
