Batum has deal in France: Portland Trailblazers small forward Nicolas Batum has agreed to play for SLUC Nancy, in the event this lockout wastes the whole season. Batum who is just 23 years old, wants to keep getting better for the NBA and the Blazers. Tony Parker, also from France, plans to join the team he co-owns ASVEL in January or February if the lockout continues.
Kobe has options open:It appears Kobe Bryant will not be joining Deron Williams as a member of the Besiktas team in Turkey after all. Bryant has not spoken to Besiktas officials in weeks. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar now will keep his options open, though may take the whole season off.
Fisher wants action: The lockout is nearly one month old, and there hasn't been much dialogue between the two sides. Derek Fisher, NBPA President wants something to happen, soon. The two sides are expected to finally meet later today, but remain very far apart on many issues. Chances of the league starting on time or even playing this season continue to dwindle as the days pass. Fisher remains optimistic, but we need meetings to happen.
Mariners honor Supersonics players: The Seattle Mariners brought back former Seattle Supersonic players for their game on Friday. Lenny Wilkens, George Karl, Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Hershey Hawkins, Dale Ellis, Slick Watts, Tom Chambers, Nate McMillian, Spencer Haywood, Gus Williams, Michael Cage, and James Donaldson all were in attendance. The Supersonics played in Seattle for 41 seasons before the team moved to Oklahoma City. Seattle deserves a NBA team, and for one day at least they had one back.
