We have life!: The NBA and players association are scheduled to meet next Friday, the 29th. David Stern, and Billy Hunter are not expected to be in attendence for this meeting. This will be the first meeting since July 1st. The next meeting with Stern and Hunter, the Players Union President in attendence is expected to be next month.
Timberwolves interviewing canidates: The Minnesota Timberwolves have interviewed Terry Porter and Mike Woodson for their vacant coaching job. Porter coached two seasons at Milwaukee and accumulated a 71-93 record, and lasted only half-a season at Phoenix. Woodson is a former coach at Atlanta and is rumored to be a canidate at Detroit. Don Nelson, Bernie Bickerstaff and Dave Joerger are also expected to get an interview soon for the job.
Mourning sued: Former NBA player Alonzo Mourning is being sued after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident early Sunday around Miami Beach. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of 21-year old William Candelario who suffered head injuries in a rollover crash. According to Florida Highway Patrol, there were two separate accidents, and Mourning left the scene of one. No arrests have been made yet.
Yao officially retired: Yao officially called it quits in front of loved ones and associates at the Grand Shanghai Ballroom in China. Injuries ended Yao's career in the NBA prematurely. He hopes to get involved as the General Manager of the Shanghai basketball team where he used to play at, and is part owner of.
