Randolph home searched: Zach Randolph's home in West Linn, Oregon, just outside of Portland, was searched by police early Sunday morning. This came after, James Beasley went to the house and was beaten with a pool cue over the cost of his marijuana. Randolph was inside the house at the time of the assault, though he wasn't part of the beating. Clackamas County Sheriff's instituted the warrant.
Walton to coach at Memphis: Los Angeles Lakers forward Luke Walton will coach for the University of Memphis Tigers as an assistant coach. He joins Memphis head coach Josh Pastner's staff until the NBA play resumes. Pastner already employs Damon Stoudemire and Jack Murphy who was an scout with the Denver Nuggets as assistant's.
NBA players with contracts cannot play in China: Players from the NBA under contract with their respective team can't play in China during the lockout. Free-agents can sign with a Chinese team, but they must stay for the entire season.
NBA pre-season beginning: Despite no end in sight for the lockout, the NBA still announced a pre-season schedule. Five games are slated to play on October, 9th and the schedule will last until October, 28th right before the regular season would start. Minnesota at Detroit will kick off the action on the ninth.
