Adelman to meet with Minnesota Timberwolves
August 23rd 2011 22:25
Former Houston Rockets head coach Rick Adelman met with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday to discuss their head coaching job.
Adelman is the seventh coach to meet with the Timberwolves about their vacant head coaching job since June 30th. Minnesota has also interviewed Don Nelson, Larry Brown, Terry Porter, Mike Woodson and Bernie Bickerstaff about the job.
Kurt Rambis was fired on the 30th, and declined a front-office job. Minnesota has some talent to work with including Kevin Love, Rickey Rubio, and Derrick Williams. They are coming off a NBA worst 17-65 record.
Adelman would be a step in the right direction if the Timberwolves do indeed hire him. He has a career record of 945-616 in 20 years of coaching. Adelman's teams have made the playoffs in all but four years, including the last two in Houston. He has coached in Portland, Sacramento, Golden State and the Rockets.
